Getting your first campaign live in Topo takes just a few minutes. This guide walks you through every step — from creating your account to watching your first outreach land in a prospect’s inbox. By the end you’ll have a working campaign with real leads enrolled in a live sequence.

Sign up or log in

Head to app.topo.io and create your account. If your team already has a Topo workspace, ask your admin to send you an invitation — you’ll join the existing organization automatically so all campaigns, contacts, and sequences are shared with your teammates.
Each user belongs to a single Organization (workspace). All campaigns, contacts, and sequences are shared across everyone in that organization.

Connect a sender

Topo sends outreach on your behalf through your own email account and/or LinkedIn profile. Before you can enroll any leads, you need to connect at least one sender.
  1. Go to Settings → Senders in the left sidebar.
  2. Click Add Sender and choose Email or LinkedIn.
  3. Follow the OAuth prompts to authorize Topo to send on your behalf.
  4. Once connected, your sender will appear with a green status indicator.
Make sure the email address or LinkedIn account you connect is the one you want prospects to see as the sender. You can connect multiple accounts and assign different ones to different campaigns.

Create a campaign

A campaign bundles a target-audience definition with an outreach sequence template. Topo’s AI uses your audience description to search for matching prospects automatically.
  1. Click Campaigns in the left sidebar, then New Campaign.
  2. Give your campaign a name (e.g., “Q3 – Mid-Market SaaS CTOs”).
  3. In the Target Audience field, describe your ideal prospect in plain language — for example:
CTOs and VPs of Engineering at B2B SaaS companies with 50–500 employees 
in the US, focused on developer tooling or infrastructure.
  1. Select the sequence template you want to use, or create a new one by clicking New Template. A template defines your outreach steps (emails, LinkedIn messages, follow-ups) and your sending schedule.
  2. Assign a Sender to the campaign, then click Launch Campaign.
Let the AI Agent suggest a sequence template for you. On the campaign creation screen, click Generate with AI and Topo will draft a multi-step sequence tailored to your audience description.

Review and approve leads

After you launch the campaign, Topo begins searching for prospects that match your audience prompt. Depending on your campaign’s lead approval mode, leads will either queue up for your review or be enrolled automatically.
  1. Open your campaign and navigate to the Leads tab.
  2. You’ll see a list of prospects Topo has surfaced, each with their name, job title, company, and LinkedIn profile.
  3. Click Approve to enroll a lead in the sequence, or Reject to skip them. You can also bulk-approve the entire list.
  4. Approved leads immediately enter the sequence and will receive their first outreach message according to your sending schedule.
You can switch between Manual Review mode (you approve every lead) and Autopilot mode (Topo enrolls matching leads automatically) at any time in the campaign settings. Autopilot is great once you’ve validated your audience targeting.

Monitor the activity feed

Once leads are enrolled, Topo tracks every interaction in real time. Head to the Activity section to see a live stream of events:
  • Sent — a message was delivered
  • Opened — a prospect opened your email
  • Clicked — a prospect clicked a link in your email
  • Replied — a prospect replied (inbound messages land in your Inbox)
  • Hot Lead — a contact’s engagement score crossed the threshold; time to prioritize them
Use the Inbox & Tasks view to action any manual follow-up tasks (calls, custom emails) that your sequence has scheduled, and to read and reply to inbound messages without leaving Topo.
Enable Slack notifications in Settings → Integrations to get a ping the moment a prospect becomes a hot lead or replies — so you never miss a warm conversation.
